KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia (November 5, 2025) – Pursell Agri-Tech and Wastech Group officially signed a joint venture agreement last week in Kuala Lumpur to construct and operate a cutting-edge Controlled Release Fertilizer (CRF) coating facility in Malaysia. The signing ceremony came after the two companies announced this partnership in April 2025. Ceremony attendees included:
- Senior representatives from Pursell Agri-Tech and Wastech Group
- Officials from the Malaysian Ministry of Investment, Trade and Industry (MITI); the Ministry of Agriculture (MOA); and the Malaysian Investment Development Authority (MIDA)
- U.S. Embassy dignitaries
- Key partners and vendors, including IREQ (factory equipment partner) and Huntsman (coating materials supplier)
This partnership is the first fertilizer industry initiative of American-Malaysian commercial cooperation aligned with the trade agreement signed last week by President Trump and Prime Minister Anwar.
The new CRF coating facility will help mitigate environmental impact by reducing fertilizer waste by 30–50%, position Malaysia as a hub for sustainable agricultural innovation, and support fertilizer efficiency in Southeast Asia and beyond.
